15 Struggles Only A Diver Will Understand

Being a diver is great. You get to experience the underwater world, explore 70% of the world inaccessible to most, have encounters with incredible marine life and (most importantly) you get to breathe underwater!

As with all things though, there’s a price to pay for getting to experience something so awesome. Here are 15 times when the #DiverLife struggle is just too real.

1. Trying to put on your wetsuit for dive number two. We admit putting on skinny jeans after a big meal might come close, but nothing will quite compare!

2. Being surrounded by water and trying to resist the desperate urge to pee.
3. Giving in and finally accepting that you’re going to spend the rest of your dive(s) covered in pee – come on, you know you’ve been there at least once.
4. Having no space on your clothes line because it’s full of dive gear. (Who needs clean clothes anyway?)
5. Having WAY more luggage than your non-diving travel companion,
6. OR sacrificing everyday clothes to fit your dive gear in your luggage.

7. Thumbs up,’ not being a good sign. ?
8. Not being able to remember the last time you used your bath for anything other than to rinse your gear.
9. Your Facebook friends no longer recognising you without your mask (or at the very least without a serious mask tan).
10. Preferring to have sharks as company, rather than people.
11. Giving the OK sign at a bar and accidentally ordering three drinks… ??
12. Actually missing the smell of neoprene.
13. Trying to change the family holiday destination so you can get some dives in (bonus points for trying to do it without the non-divers realising).
14. A flooded mask from smiling too much, but being unable to stop smiling.
15. Trying to resist the urge to jump in the water when someone yells, “shark!”

Can you relate to any of these or have you experienced other struggles that come with #DiverLife?
